Giveaway Information

This page contains important information about the Giveaway rules. Read through all of the information carefully if you plan to participate in joining or hosting Giveaways in the room.

What Are Giveaways?

Giveaways are a way for users in Wi-Fi to give Pokémon back to the community in Scarlet/Violet, Sword/Shield, or Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl. We have two types of giveaways: Lotto and Question.

Lotto - These are luck based, click join and hope for the best.

Question - These are skill based, test your knowledge and win some amazing prizes!

Pokémon in our Giveaways are usually considered high value or high quality, if you are a collector we advise you turn on Giveaway notifications so you don't miss any. This can be done by typing /rfaq ga into Wi-Fi chat and clicking the "Notify" button! This will ensure you are pinged as and when new Giveaways occur.

Remember that all Giveaways hosted by users in the room are done through acts of kindness and are generally unscheduled, so please do not ask questions regarding when the next Giveaway will be, and avoid complaining if you don't manage to win a desirable Giveaway.

We currently support Official Giveaways in the following Pokémon titles:

Scarlet & Violet - Indicated by the RED background

Sword & Shield - Indicated by the BLUE background

Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl - Indicated by the PURPLE background

What Are Giveaways?

Your Pokémon must meet the following minimum requirement to be given away:

  • Shiny Pokémon of any kind
  • Event Pokémon of any kind
  • Pokémon with transfer exclusive movesets
  • Non-shiny flawless Pokémon with competitively usable natures
  • Non-shiny battle ready Pokémon - (Must be HyperTrained if IVs are not ideal for competitive play)
  • Any Pokémon that requires proof as per the Trade Rules must be GA'd through the form
Example IV spreads: 6IV Perfect Spreads:
  • 31/31/31/31/31/31 | Perfect spread.
  • 31/31/31/0/31/31 | Perfect spread (Physical).
  • 31/0/31/31/31/31 | Perfect spread (Special).
  • 31/31/31/0/31/0 | Perfect spread (Physical in Trick Room).
  • 31/0/31/31/31/0 | Perfect spread (Special in Trick Room).
5IV Flawless Spreads:
  • 31/31/31/x/31/31 | Flawless spread (Physical).

  • 31/0/x/31/31/0 | Flawless spread (Double 0 in TR with X on HP, Def or SpDef).

Any Perfect/Flawless spread must come with a nature that compliments the Pokémon in a competitive setting. Mints and Hyper Trained IVs are acceptable on Pokémon that are not breedjects.

Disclaimer - The final verdict on if a Pokémon can be given away ultimately falls at the discretion of PS! Wi-Fi Room Staff.

The following types of Pokémon can be given away unofficially:

  • Breedjects: any non-shiny, non-BRd bred mons regardless of IVs or natures.
  • Physical event distribution codes
  • Non Shiny Pokémon with less than 5IVs obtained in Legends: Arceus

An unofficial Giveaway means you can make a post in the room to explain what you are giving away, and how a user can receive their freebie.

The following types of Pokémon cannot be given away through any means:

  • Anything not listed above
  • Hacked or illegal Pokémon
  • Non-self obtained Pokémon
  • Non-shiny Pokémon with flawed IV spreads - (Hyper Trained/Minted Pokemon that are Battle Ready with a viable set for competitive battles are acceptable)

We have a special protocol for those who wish to Giveaway hacked/genned Pokémon, be sure to PM a member of /roomstaff and let us know your intentions.

Giveaway Rules

Wanting to host your own Giveaway or to see how you can participate? This portion of the page covers everything you need to know.
1. You may only give away legitimate, self-obtained Pokémon.

See the Trade Rules page for more information about the types of Pokémon that are considered legitimate.

Only self-obtained Pokémon can be given away, do not give away someone elses Pokémon. If you did not capture, or redeem the Pokémon on your console then it is not self-obtained. The only exception to this rule is the monthly Official Giveaway.

2. If your Pokémon needs proof to trade it needs proof to be given away.

See the Proofing Guidelines for more information about the types of Pokémon that need proof to trade in the Wi-Fi room.

Got the correct proofing? Simply add a link to it inside the Other Information box before submitting your Giveaway form.

The Other Information box should otherwise only be used to provide additional information about your Pokémon.

3. You cannot Giveaway a Pokémon in an egg.

This is to prevent risk of scams as the player is unable to verify their prize during the trade. If your Pokémon is self-obtained and still inside an egg, make sure to hatch it before attempting to distribute via Giveaway.

This rule extends to both official and unofficial style Giveaways.

4. No inappropriate/offensive trainer names.

Your trainer name must not reference anything of an inappropriate or offensive nature. The solution to this is using a different save file with a more appropriate trainer name.

5. Held items are considered an extra, not the main prize.

If you plan to give away an item, it must be attached to a Pokémon that meets the minimum giveaway requirements listed at the top of this page.

6. Question giveaways must be Pokémon related.

You must also provide the source of your answer to a /roomstaff member in order to verify your Giveaway.

7. Do not attempt to exploit the Giveaway system in any capacity.

Any attempt to exploit the Giveaway system will be met with a long ban from joining or hosting Giveaways, and may also lead to room punishment.
