PkParse guide

This page contains a small guide that explains how to use PkParse, a tool used to parse pk* files to human readable text. This tool can be used to automate the process of adding new Pokémon to your spreadsheets.

This tool provides the user with custom parse outputs, which means you will be able to parse a pk* file in countless different orders. We also provide a pre-set layout for our official Trade Sheet in an attempt to make it easy and simple for those with access to pk* files to fill their tradesheet.

The following pk* file types are supported:

This tool is intended to be used for Switch & 3DS titles. Earlier titles are not supported.

How To Use

First, you will need to select an output format, this tool provides presets to use with the official PS! Wi-Fi tradesheet template, select PS! Wi-Fi Trade Sheet Template if you are using a copy of our Official Trade Sheet.

Selecting an output option...

If you are using an edited version of this sheet, or a custom spreadsheet, read over the custom output options by selecting All output options to avoid pasting over cells that contain sprites/images, add an extra tab (\t).

You can save custom outputs locally by using the Save option! This is helpful for quick access to parse outputs that you plan to use later.

Creating a custom output...

After selecting an output option, select your pk* file by clicking the Choose files... button, you can select multiple files from a folder if you wish.

Note: This is a local upload from your machine, files uploaded to the website will not be saved, stored or seen by PS! Wi-Fi.

Selecting files from a folder...

Once you have selected the files you should see that they have sucessfully been parsed into text and copied to the clipboard. Now you can simply paste them into the correct row of your spreadsheet to fill in all the information about your Pokémon automatically!

Pasting into your spreadsheet...

The preset for the Tradesheet Template includes sheet formula, as to not break existing rows. If you use custom sheet layouts or custom formula you will need to account for this accordingly using the custom parser.
